Look inside
Pages from the file you'll download, not a mock-up.
The hospital-bag lists on the internet are mostly affiliate marketing. They contain forty-three items, twenty-six of which you will not use, and seven of which the hospital actually provides.
This checklist is the one I packed from on my second baby, after the first had taught me what was actually needed and what was not.
What’s inside
Eight pages, printable or fillable:
- The one-page summary, for a friend, partner, or in-law who has to grab the bag if you are not there when the call comes.
- For her: the actual minimum, plus the comfort items that make hour seventeen better.
- For the partner: separate, because a partner with their own snack bag is a partner who can stay.
- For the baby: short. The hospital provides most of it.
- For going home: the car-seat reminder, the going-home outfit, the pre-warmed-car note.
- The “two weeks before” page: install the car seat. Practice it. Do the route in daylight.
- The phone-line list: who to call, in what order, and what each one’s number is.
- The “don’t bother” page: the things you packed last time and didn’t use.
